We have been made aware of an issue with the postcode lookup in our payments system. Payments are working as normal, please enter your address manually whilst we wait for an update from our provider. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Alternative bag collections
As part of our new bin service from 1 June 2026 we will provide:
- purple bags for rubbish that cannot be recycled or composted
- a 5 litre kitchen caddy and a 23 litre kerbside caddy for food waste which will be collected weekly

We will collect bags on a two-week cycle as follows:
Rubbish and garden waste week:
- up to 3 purple rubbish bags
- unlimited brown paper bags for garden waste
- food waste caddy
Recycling week:
- unlimited clear bags for mixed recycling
- food waste caddy
We will only collect the official recycling and waste collection bags and caddies issued to each household identified by our logo. This is to make sure that they are compatible with our disposal facility, are safe for our crews to empty, and in the case of rubbish, are not an excessive amount.
No room for bins
If you are not already on the alternative bags collection service and have no room for bins, please complete our form.
Request additional bags
We can provide more bags if you believe three a week is not enough and you meet at least one of the following criteria:
- 5 or more residents live permanently at the property
- 2 or more children are in nappies
- non-clinical medical or hygiene waste is produced in the household
- residents can demonstrate the household is recycling all materials correctly through the recycling service

Annual delivery of bags
We will deliver you a roll of purple bags (enough for three bags per fortnight) as well as a roll of clear bags for recycling, in spring each year.
How to get more recycling bags
You can request more clear bags for free at any time by contacting us online. You can also pick them up at the council’s offices.
Garden waste bags
We have removed the restriction on the number of garden waste (brown) bags we will collect, and so will replace like for like the number of bags you present at each collection.
